The film "Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America," which perpetuates harmful stereotypes about Jews including Satan worship and plots for world domination, was linked to by Irving on Thursday.

Less than a week after West was dropped by corporate America for threatening violence against Jews, Irving was called one of the "real ones" by the antisemitic rapper.

Irving has not faced any discipline from his team, the league or the players' union, with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver not speaking on the matter and the players' association releasing a statement.

A number of notable media figures and former NBA stars have lambasted Irving and the league's handling of the situation, including Irving's former coach, Amadis.

On Tuesday, broadcasters and former players called Irving an 'idiot' and urged Silver to suspend him during the broadcast of Brooklyn's loss to the Chicago Bulls.

Nike released a statement Monday condemning hate speech and antisemitism, but Irving hasn't faced any corporate backlash.

Surprising Fact

The Nets fired their head coach, Steve Nash, on Tuesday, after a poor performance and off-court antics. The Nets didn't give a reason for Nash's dismissal, but they did say that it was an evaluation of how the season has begun.

Tangent

There is precedent for the NBA taking action against players who use antisemitic rhetoric, as it fined the Miami Heat center and suspended him for a week after he said an antisemitic slur. Kobe Bryant was fined by the league for using anti-gay slurs. The Los Angeles Clippers owner was forced to sell the team because of his use of racist language and the Phoenix Suns owner was suspended for a year because of his use of the N-word.
