When Deshaun's suspension ends, he's on track to start.
The 11-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy by committing sexual assault on massage therapists is still in place.
It's not possible to begin practicing until November 14. He will be eligible to play in the 13th week of the season.
He has been allowed to work out at the training facility and participate in team meetings since October 10.
Berry said it was great to have him back. He's stayed in great shape, he's been a part of the meetings, and he's been focused on himself." He has done everything that has been asked of him. We'll be happy to have him when he can return to the practice field.
After more than two dozen women accused him of sexual assault and inappropriate sexual conduct during massage sessions, the National Football League and the NFL Players Association reached a settlement. The man was fined $5 million and had to go through a treatment program. The team banned him from their facilities for a period of time.
In the summer, he agreed to settlements with 23 of the 24 lawsuits against him. The 25th lawsuit was dropped when the judge ruled her petition had to be changed. Two other women didn't file lawsuits against him.
There were two grand juries in Texas that didn't indict him. Sue L. Robinson, who was appointed by the league and players' union, found that the NFL had to prove that Mr. Robinson concluded in her report that the behavior of the man was predatory andgregious.
There has been no wrongdoing by the man. He hasn't done an interview since he returned to the facility.
A woman filed a civil lawsuit against him, saying that he pressured her into oral sex during a massage. A series of court exhibits were filed to support the allegation.
"Like we've said from the beginning, the legal situation with Deshaun needs to run its course, and we'll let Deshaun's legal team speak for that," Berry said.
TheClevelandBrowns are headed into their bye with a mediocre record, but they are coming off an impressive victory over the CincinnatiBengals on Monday.
At this point in the season, the eighth-best QBR is posted by Jacoby Brissett, despite the fact that the team has lost.
Berry said that when they signed Brissett, they wanted him to be ready to play, and that he has been.
He hasn't played in a regular-season game since 2020 and hasn't been traded since last year. He played the first quarter in Cleveland's preseason opener and completed just one pass for 7 yards. It might take time to shake off the rust, even as Cleveland hopes to make a push for the playoffs with him behind center.
With the time Deshaun has had off, expect him to shoulder everything. That's not how the team is made. I don't think that's fair for a quarterback.
