There are rumors that the acquisition of the company by Musk has caused employees to work 12-hour days and no overtime pay.

A photo of a person sleeping in a sleeping bag on the ground is causing a stir on the social media platform, even though some sources have chosen to remain anonymous.

Esther Crawford, director of product management at Twitter's San Francisco HQ, was photographed and put into a sleeping bag by Evan Jones, product manager of Twitter Spaces.

Crawford and Jones have been at the company for over a year.

Crawford said "when your team is pushing round the clock to make deadlines sometimes you sleep where you work."

The ousting of several top execs and the threat of layoffs have not been easy to manage.

Crawford explained the situation in a lengthy thread after the photo was criticized. She said she was lucky to be able to work at a pivotal time in tech history, and that sometimes sacrifice is required in her work.

This is not a normal moment in time, and I work with amazing people. She wrote that they are less than a week into a huge business and cultural transition. We've been in the midst of a crazy public acquisition for months but we keep going and I'm so proud of our strength.

I love my family and I'm grateful they understand that there are times where I need to go into overdrive to grind and push in order to deliver. Building new things at Twitter's scale is very hard to do. I'm lucky to be doing this work alongside some of the best people in tech.

Since his acquisition was finalized last week, Musk has continued to be very active on the platform, but he has not responded to either Jones or Crawford.

Due to Musk taking the company private, the company will be de listed from the New York Stock Exchange on November 8.
