The next generation of console virtual reality has a release date.
On Wednesday, Sony removed the veil on that information. You will be able to get a PSVR2 for $550 in the US.

It's a requirement to play PSVR2 on the PS 5 console.
The price of high-quality virtual reality is something that PSVR2 promises to address. The new headset has eye tracking and the screens on it are 2000x2040. The PSVR2 Sense controllers are similar to what the PS5's dualsense controller can do.
You get a headset, controllers, and headphones for that price. The headset doesn't have a built-in audio output source. There is a jack for headphones on the device, but no speakers like what the Metaquest 2 has. The $600 bundle includes all of the above, as well as the game Call of the Mountain.
11 new PSVR2 games were announced by Sony along with the price announcement. There is a new entry in the Dark Pictures horror anthology series, as well as a collection of games from the Aftermath series.

You have it. The audio problem is alleviated by the headphones that come with PSVR2. Since it requires the power of a PS5 to function, it should have a lot of technical advantages over cheaper games. The benefits will be available in February.
