Stuart Pearce, a former England football captain, addressed us all at camp in the build-up to our final group stage game.

In his message, he was brilliant. A lot of his highlights were just folding people. He was fierce, but he was able to play. He was called 'Psycho' because of that.

Wane said he had a rugby player's mind in a football player's body. I had a brief conversation with him after he was a fan of the Wolves.

There are always paths that cross, whether it be hard work or dedication, you can relate to.

It's great to hear different stories. He was a late bloomer and within a year or two he was playing for England.

Leading the team, leading by example

Stuart had a first Test captaincy against Greece and Sam Tomkins did not play in the final game.

The World Cup, a Test match, and a family in the stands was more important to me than the friendly against Fijians. It was amazing.

The shirt will be put in my house. I had to keep hold of my stuff.

I always go about the week in the same way. I tried to lead by actions when I spoke.

I didn't want to get carried away by the captain. Being myself was the reason Waney probably gave me it.

We have a wide group of characters and there's no need to be different.

We have an open floor in the dressing room, so I will speak about 'with the ball' and what we are going to do to beat the opposition.

It's different with England because most of the players in the squad are leaders at their clubs, so everyone has a say.

We have leaders everywhere, even when Sam Tomkins is captain.

I've lost both coin tosses but have won both of them. I'll accept that.

Greece thumped, now on to the quarters

Greece might have been well beaten, but they put up a fight against England

It was a weird game to play. We had a bit of a flat patch in which I'll pay credit to Greece, but to win 94-4 probably shows where we're at.

Waney will look at how we can improve after we played some good stuff and scored some tries.

We know what we're good at, but there are still things we need to work on if we want to beat the bigger teams.

We've been great as a group, so it's not fair to pick out individuals, but I would like to give a shout to Hilly. He's in top form, he's massive around the group, and he's a leader who speaks.

He knows what the World Cup is all about because he has participated in it before. All of our middles are doing a good job and he's playing well for us.

For us, it was over. We don't want to get too carried away. knockout football is the real thing.

It's a place that will always hold a special place in my heart, even though I'm 100% committed to Wolves as a player. I'm familiar with it.

I was a ball-boy for Wigan for a number of years and was able to live my dream of playing for them.

It will always be special, but I have never played for England there. It will be great for me.

Footwear controversy in the cryochamber

Herbie Farnworth
Herbie Farnworth: "Good looking lad" but "stupid" footwear taste

Part of the recovery is the cryochamber. I'm in between the two.

It's -140C and we have to get in for a short time.

You wear shorts, a hat, some Crocs and gloves. It is a strange outfit. It could be two or three minutes.

The man wears Crocs around the place. The people were shocked. I disagree with them.

I haven't seen Victor's outfits but they don't seem too bad. He wears them around the place, even though he has an English style. He's a good looking boy so he will be fine.

Mike McMeeken is a second rower for the Catalans.

When we're in camp, we have a team room that's always on, so I'll stay around and watch it.

I will check the scores and watch the highlights when I'm away from the family.

There needs to be a balance somewhere.
