Celebrity Cruises is going to have its largest-ever trade educational programme next year.

At least 600 agents will be hosted on the ship next year, with a mix of ship visits and seminars being planned.

The second Edge-series vessel will be called into 10 British and Irish ports in the summer of next year.

Celebrity confirmed that there will be other trade educational events on other Edge-series ships and the rest of the Celebrity fleet in Europe.

Celebrity learned that agents wanted to experience their ships the most.

Jo Rzymowska, the line's vice-president and managing director, said at an event in London that it was the line's biggest ever educational programme. There will be seven ships in Europe next summer, including three Edge-series ships.

There are many new agents in the industry. Cash prizes and seeing the ships were the most important things that we did research on.

Rzymowska said that agents would go on board for the whole of the cruise and that agents could bring a colleague or a plus one.

She said the line's trade distribution was constantly evolving and that it wasn't one size fits all. We think about what we can do to help them sell.

The full summer programme will be available on November 15. Rzymowska said that this gives them some time to drum up demand and give agents a chance to fulfill their customers' needs.

Rzymowska doesn't think that British passengers will favor Celebrity's ex-UK departures over fly-cruise sailings. A lot of our guests are happy to leave and go to the sun.

A multi-destination brand is called Celebrity. A lot of Britons want to sail from the UK and others want to fly further away. The UK market is important to us.

Rzymowska said Celebrity's pricing levels were higher compared to the year before.

Guests don't want the lowest price but they want the best value.
