The New York Times reported that the chief marketing officer of the social network is leaving. The vice president of global client solutions is leaving the company.

Berland didn't say anything publicly about the job change, only that he used a blue heart symbol.

Despite the short message, it seems to have been enough to prompt a flood of responses from other people. The VP of product said that Berland had a bigger impact on the service than anyone else. She always had your back, she always listened, she always did the right thing, and she made a statement on the social networking site.

Berland hasn't updated his bios to reflect any job changes. Prior to publishing, we reached out to Berland, but he didn't reply immediately.

The departure of Berland comes over a decade after they first joined the company, and is one of a number of departures announced today.

The group of pre-Musk executives at the company is getting smaller. The bio on Sullivan's account used to refer to his role at the company. The previous head of product was let go. When Musk took over, he let go of CFO Ned Segal, general counsel Sean Edgett, and head of legal policy, trust and safety Vijaya Gadde.
