Google is discontinuing support for the standalone Street View app and pulling it from app stores

In the coming weeks, the Street View app will be removed from app stores, and there will be no Street View app in March, according to Madison Gouveia. Evidence was found in a recent update that indicated the search giant was planning to leave the app.

You can use the dedicated Street View app on both phones to check out places on Maps with Street View and help improve it. Street View can be used in the main Maps app as well as in the Street View studio app. Soon, support for the separate app will be discontinued.

I don't believe that this change means that Maps is going to be pulled back. A few weeks ago, the company showed off some ways it is planning to make the app more realistic, including what it calls an "Immersive View" that gives you a 3D aerial view of a specific location.
