An iPad app isn't a priority for the company, but it is at least doing something to make the big screen experience better Some people, including a few members of The Verge's staff, have started noticing a slightly redesigned version ofInstagram for the web, which features a navigation sidebar with links to pages like search, explore, messages, and notifications instead of having those as un labeled buttons at the top.

The design is similar to how Twitter is laid out and definitely seems more at home on a bigger screen, with more info about what the buttons are and what they do, and the options to access settings, your saved posts, or the ability to switch accounts have been moved to a different area

Better navigation and videos are included in the new update.

Christine Pai, a spokeswoman for Meta, said in a statement that the change is more than a test. We are always working on ways to improve the experience for people. Improved navigation, better video experience, and introduction of a more immersive way to communicate are some of the changes that have been made to the website.

Some users still have the old version of Instagram for web, where you navigate via buttons at the top.

This isn't the same as having a dedicated app for tablets, but it seems like a step in the right direction. The addition of bigger and clearer click targets will be welcomed by anyone who interacts with the desktop site.
