The Kentucky men's basketball team has multiple players who helped the Cats earn the No. 4 ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll.
Four teams from Kentucky's non conference schedule are ranked in the top 25.

It's a strange message for a head coach who has had to deal with controversy within his fan base. A loss to Saint Peter's in the first round of the NCAA tournament extended the program's Final Four dry spell.
After calling Kentucky a basketball school, Calipari asked the university to fund a new practice facility for his team during a trip to the Bahamas. The comments were seen as a shot at Mark Stoops. A new practice facility is not a priority at the moment, according to Kentucky athletic directorMitch Barnhart.
At Big Blue Madness, the men's basketball program didn't have the same vibe as it had in the past.
The player said he will play in the team's first game next week after having a knee procedure. Two five-star recruits are also in the mix. Wheeler is expected to be a major contributor again after he dealt with a minor knee injury. Jacob Toppin is the brother of Obi Toppin.
In his video, Calipari told fans to be patient and enjoy the ride as the team tries to build on their success in the preseason.
"These guys are giving everything, what we're building to and what we're doing every day, these guys are giving everything." I like the pieces I enjoy working with my teammates. It will take us a while to win at the highest level. I am saying this for both of you.
