  • The author of Julia Child's recipes has passed away.

  • Her husband told the New York Times that she died of a heart attack.

  • Powell's journey was made into a movie with Amy Adams playing Powell.

The author of "Julie & Julia" died at the age of 49.

Eric Powell told The New York Times that his wife died from a heart attack. He said that she died at their home.

Powell rose to fame after starting her food blog, the Julie/Julia Project for Salon.com, which chronicled her journey making every single Child's recipe in her "Mastering the Art of French Cooking: Volume I" cookbook.

According to The Times, Salon reported that she got over 400,000 pageviews by the end of the year.

The book "Julie & Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously" was made into a book in 2005. In 2009, it was turned into a major motion picture, starring Amy Adams as Powell.

Both Powell's and Child's works were noted by the film. Powell's book sold over one million copies, and the film made Child a New York Times best-seller.

Powell set herself apart from other writers of the time through her casual approach to writing.

The authenticity of the medium was a motivator for Powell to write her post. She said that they have a medium that allows them to type in the comments they used to make.

She wrote about food in a way that sounded like people she knew. She said that you could write about food even if you didn't know much about it.

The trend of food writers cooking their way through chefs' cookbooks was started by her.

Child wasn't a fan of Powell.

Child told the LA Times reporter that she didn't think Powell was serious when she read excerpts from his post.

The chef said he worked very hard on the book. For eight years, I tested and retested those recipes to make sure they worked for everyone. Many people have done that. She could have problems with them. She doesn't seem to be a lot of a cook.

Powell graduated with a degree in theater and fiction writing from the college.

She met her husband when she was in high school and they married in 1998.

Powell wrote "Cleaving: A Story of Marriage, Meat and Obsession" in 2009. She and Eric had affairs against the backdrop of her education in the world of butchery.

Her first book was well received. Powell didn't write a new book before she died.

She is survived by many people.
