RGIII: Dolphins' SB chances soar 'to the moon' after Bradley Chubb trade (1:41)

The impact of trading for Bradley Chubb will have on the Dolphins. There is a time and a place for it.

The Miami Dolphins acquired a first-round pick from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for Bradley Chubb, according to sources.

According to a source, the Dolphins are sending Chubb and a fourth-round pick to Denver in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

The San Francisco 49ers received a fifth-round pick from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for running back Jeff Wilson. Wilson was traded to the Dolphins along with Mostert, his former teammate in San Francisco. Wilson has two touchdown runs this year.

The Dolphins have pressured opposing quarterbacks on 22% of their dropbacks this season, which is fourth lowest in the league. The Dolphins have 15 sacks in eight games this season.

Chubb has 26 sacks in 49 games with the Broncos, tying him for the team lead.

Chubb is going to be an unrestricted free agent after this season. Sources say the Dolphins are working on a new long-term deal with Chubb.

The Dolphins won't have a first-round pick next year because of their tampering with Tom Brady and Sean Payton.

He was signed by the Dolphins this year. In his first season in Miami, he has rushed for 120 yards and scored three touchdown. Javonte Williams suffered a season-ending knee injury earlier in the season, and he will be replaced by him by the Broncos.

When the Dolphins led the league in defensive expected points added from Week 8 to Week 18 in the 2020 season, they hoped their offense would improve and that their defense would carry over its success from the previous season.

Through eight games, Miami's defense has ranked 23rd in yards allowed and 27th in defensive EPA. The pressure for the Dolphins is 15 and 69.

Chubb and the Dolphins' first-round pick are in the top 10.

With Chubb's arrival, the Dolphins turned their trade with the 49ers into essentially Jaylen Waddle, Tyreek Hill and now Chubb.

The Broncos weren't going to trade Chubb unless they got a bigger return for their first-round pick. Chubb said last week that he wanted to stay in Denver.

Is that correct? Chubb said it was cool to be in a position where the interest came in. I let the people who handle it do it. I just do what I can.

George Paton has dealt the team's best pass-rusher just before the deadline in each of the last two seasons. Von Miller was traded to the Rams.

Paton said this past week that the Broncos were not in the mode where they wanted to get rid of their best players, and that he would like to recover draft picks in the rounds where the Broncos no longer had picks.

The Broncos will get a first-round pick again in the April draft.

Chubb has not had a double-digit sack season since his freshman year. He missed most of the season due to bone spurs in his ankle and a torn knee.
