Four-day work weeks are growing in popularity, but a Miami store is experimenting with a three-day week.

According to Lindsey, his team of 18 store leaders and roughly 20 frontline employees have been following a three-day work week for the past few months. Employees used to work 70 hours a week and skip vacations to meet goals, he told the magazine.

Lindsey said that he's asking a lot of people. I can do more.

The staff is split into two groups of workers who alternate on three-day blocks of shifts for 13 to 14 hours. On Sundays,Chick-Fil-A is not open. Not all employees have opted in to the shorter work week with longer shifts according to Lindsey.

Lindsey said that they were very clear with them from the beginning. We said, "Look, this is new territory." If you're going to do this, you're going to come on a journey with us.

One job opening that led with the three-day work week received more than 400 applications, and the store has seen 100% retention since adopting the abbreviated schedule.

He thinks people want to work in this industry. The people like the work. If we change it for the better, we will make a lasting impact.
