Over the last two and a half years, a majority of employed Americans have the option of working from home for all or part of the week.

Today's strapped labor market is giving employees more power to push back for remote, or at least flexible, jobs, while some companies are pushing for a return to the office. It has the potential to make some businesses better because it is a way of life. It's Beth's birthday and people who work from home have reported an increase in productivity. Employers and employees have reported drawbacks to working from home. Mental health issues can be caused by loneliness and isolation. Without the human element in the same room, learning and collaboration have taken a hit. Creating and maintaining a company culture can be hard to do remotely.

One solution to the problems of remote work is to bring staff together. Companies have to be more intentional with how they plan monthly or quarterly off-sites if the team is fully remote.
