The update to the Delphi murders was announced by the internet service provider.
The girls' deaths as well as the frenzy of news coverage, social media speculation and bits of chilling evidence released in the case have made Hoosiers and other Americans very interested in the case.
In July of 2021, there was a total ban on the release of any information about people of interest in the investigation.
We know a lot about what happened on that trail.
Five years after their murder, Delphi teens still grieve.
Friends and eighth- graders at Delphi Community Middle School, they were killed.
To honor them, family members considered raising money for new bleachers or a board at the softball field where the girls played. The L&A Park Foundation was created to oversee the construction of a $1 million park that would include three ball fields, an amphitheater and a playground.
The NBA announced in February 2020 that it would award a $50,000 All-Star Legacy Grant to the foundation to help with the construction of the park.
There is a search for the killer of Delphi.
Police officers and family members have decried the rampant rumors that have been circulating in the case as well as the side-by-side photos comparing actual persons to the police sketches that some people have posted on social media sites.
The reports that Richard Allen was booked into theCarroll County Jail in connection with the Delphi murder investigation only further illustrate that message, as many noted his name has not been one of the many discussed previously on social media.
There is no information on Allen's arrest or his background at the moment.
The Journal & Courier requested to look at public information with Indiana State Police and the sheriff.
The importance of Friday's announcement is highlighted by the self-imposed embargo on releasing information to the media.
There have been no official statements or updates on the investigation prior to the press conference.
According to reports, the hosts of The Murder Sheet took photographs of investigators from the Indiana State Police near the Wabash River, about 40 miles from where the teenagers were found murdered.

In an interview with IndyStar in 2020, Sergeant Kim Riley of the Indiana State Police said that when they have the person they want, they want to know what they know. That's the reason why we've kept the information to ourselves.
Four years after the murders of Delphi, families are still talking about it.
The Journal & Courier was confirmed to be authentic in May of 2022.

The suspect in the catfish account was named by police.
"During Kegan's interview, he initially denied creating fake social media accounts and talking to under age girls," the 2020 affidavit states. He admitted in the interview that he spoke to girls under the age of 18.

12 days after the girls were killed, police interviewed him.
The Indiana State Police indicated that Kline's social media profile was of interest in the killings.
MacDonald wanted to know why the state police focused on the catfish social media account.
I don't know what's going on, I think it's because they said I was the last person to talk to her.
According to Fox59, nearly 200 pages of police interview transcripts with Kline were found by The Murder Sheet, after they were accidentally posted to a county website.
Police questioned Kline about communications he had with Liberty German the night before she died, and planned to meet up with her the next day.
According to the August 2020 interview transcript, police believe other people had access to "anthony_shots."
In an interview with HLN, Kline said that he was told that his father was responsible for the deaths of the teens.
The transcripts refer to conversations "anthony_shots" had with the Delphi teen.
Anyone who may have communicated with, met or attempted to meet the person connected with the profile is asked to email abbyandlibbytip@cacoshrf.com or call.
James Brian Chadwell II, a Lafayette man, is accused of abducting and sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl.
According to prosecutors, a knock on Chadwell's door by police officers interrupted his sexual assault of the girl he had locked in his basement and forced him to quickly dress and answer the door.
An affidavit shows that a Lafayette girl said that James Brian Chadwell sexually abused her.
Residents pointed out the nature of the crimes and a resemblance to the first suspect sketch after the arrest.
The information has been given to us and our investigators are looking into him.
Attempts to follow up on the investigation into Chadwell's possible connection were stopped when the information was blacked out.
Chadwell requested a change of venue after he was involved in a jailhouse fight.
The case was featured on Good Morning America in February of 2022.
Carter said that his resolve to catch him was the same as it was when he first started. It's the same as day one, we know a lot about you. It's good to sleep well.
Four pieces of key evidence have been released by investigators.
The FBI believes that the suspected killer is a white man who is between 180 and 200 pounds and stands between 6 and 8 feet tall. He wore blue jeans, a blue jacket, and a hoodie.
State Police released a sketch of an older looking man with a goatee, who was wearing a cap and a hoodie. The killer is thought to be between the ages of 18 and 40, but may appear younger than his true age, according to police.
On the day after the girls were found, police released a blurry image of the suspect taken from video on the phone. The man's voice was released a week later. The longer version of the same phone video shows the man's walking on the bridge, as well as a longer version of audio, where he can be heard talking. It's down the hill.
The State Police believe that the killer is from Delphi, and that he either lives or works in the area.
Is Delphi's murderer one of her own? Yes, according to the internet service provider.
At news conferences and in interviews with the media, Mike Patty has talked about the toll that the case has taken.
In an interview in February of last year, Patty said that he was still hopeful that there would be a breakthrough in the case.
It's what you wake up with. It is the last thing you think before going to sleep. I don't sleep a lot. Patty didn't sleep for 3 months.
I don't want to sleep until I know another family won't have to go through this.
It's horrible to live like this a year after the deaths of two people.

I agree. People who reach out to investigators are asked to provide information, such as a name, age, phone number, and why the caller thinks the person is related to the case. There is a large reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
