After closing on his acquisition of the social platform, Musk immediately moved to oust Parag Agrawal as CEO and other executives. Two people familiar with the changes told Insider that Musk has been set up as the CEO of the company.

A few days before the deal closed, Musk changed his bio to read "chief twit" He told employees during a meeting in June that he was going to be the leader of the company, but he didn't want to be the CEO.

He said at the time that people need to listen to him. In addition to leading roles at Neuralink and The Boring Company, Musk is also the founder and CEO ofTesla.

Musk has not spoken to employees since he took over the company. Insider reported that he and his team of executives and assistants have begun to plan layoffs.
