According to a report from Mark Gurman, the new Macbook Pros may not arrive until early next year. Gurman thinks the upgraded devices will be released in the first half of March.
According to Gurman, this release window will allow Apple to launch the new MacBooks around the same time as the macOS Ventura 13.3 andiOS 16.3 updates come out. The new MacBook Pros could be released early next year, as well as a recent rumor from Korean leaker Lanzuk, which indicates the new MacBook Pros will arrive in March.
The upgraded line of MacBook Pros isn't coming this year, according to Gurman. During the call, Apple CEO Tim Cook says the company's product lineup is "set" for the holiday season, while Luca Maestri says he expects Mac revenue to "decline substantially" in December. It doesn't seem like Apple's expecting the same trend this year after the new MacBook Pros added $10.9 billion in Mac revenue.
The more powerful M2 Pro and M2 Max processor are expected to be included in the upgraded MacBook Pros. According to Gurman, the M2 Max chip is rumored to feature 12 core and up to 38 core, an upgrade from the 10 core and up to 32 core M 1 Max chip. The base M2 chip is included in the new MacBook Air, but it is not included in the 13-inch MacBook Pro.
