According to sources, the Rams will not part ways with Akers if they can't trade him.

Sources say that the Rams would find a trade partner for Akers in a perfect world, but they also know that he can help them this season.

Sources said that if Akers isn't dealt by Tuesday, he will return to the Rams and play for them again this season.

The Rams have explored trade possibilities while Akers has been away. He won't be in the lineup for the second game in a row because of personal reasons.

Sean McVay said earlier this month that Akers returning to the team is not off the table, but that the best option for all parties would be a trade.

Akers has run for over 150 yards and a touchdown. He said he was motivated after scoring a touchdown in Week 3 because everyone else felt like he lost a step.

Darrell Henderson Jr. ran for 43 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and Malcolm Brown added 15 yards on seven carries.
