There was a 1,300% increase in the use of a slur on the social media platform after it was reported that Musk had closed the deal. The N-word was used 170 times per five minutes.
According to the Washington Post's report, anonymous accounts were trying to assess the limits of the moderation policies after Musk bought it. Several online troll accounts called on others to use racist language after the deal was made.
Elon now has control of the social networking site. The racial slurs could be used. One anonymous account used a slur for Jewish and Black people.
According to the media outlet, there was a lot of misogynistic and anti-gay messages on the platform.
There will be a moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints. Major decisions on moderation wouldn't be made until the council met, according to the billionaire.
Musk said that they have not made any changes to the policy.
