Harbaugh addresses postgame fight between Michigan, Michigan State players (1:05)

The Michigan coach called for an investigation after a fight broke out in the tunnel. Affirmative.

12:40 AM ET

The police are investigating an assault on two of Harbaugh's players in the tunnel after the game. The video was posted on social media by the Detroit News.

There is no excuse for what happened after the game. I talked to the commissioner and he's looking into it. The police see the video and are addressing it. This is not how we should interact after a game.

It's completely and utterly unacceptable to grab a player and do what they did. We will allow the Big Ten and law enforcement to take care of it.

Harbaugh said one of the players had a potential nose injury but had not been diagnosed.

Harbaugh said the coaches were addressing the incident after the game rather than celebrating in the locker room.

Harbaugh said that he wanted to protect his players. It was just terrible. It needs to be looked into and concluded. Our athletic director is responsible for that.

A joint statement was released hours later.

The University of Michigan Police, in partnership with Michigan State University Police, Michigan athletics and Michigan football, is looking into the postgame incident. Situations such as these are taken very seriously.

None of the players had seen the video or the incident in real time and had no comment.

Tucker said he didn't know what happened after the game.

Tucker said that the game was heated. We want our guys in the locker room. We will have to figure it out.
