Danny Green said that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what's needed to build a team around superstars.

Green made comments to Howard Beck on the "The Crossover" show.

We are aware of what occurred. If you win a championship there, it's home, and you have some type of invested feeling, so I think it's interesting. I thought Dennis was a good fit for them because they have Dennis back now for less. There were a lot of good pieces that they let go or traded away, and they thought they had a better fit. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what's going on.

In three years, the Lakers have gone from NBA champion to the worst team in the NBA.

The Lakers are last in points and offensive rating. They are last in field- goal percentage, three-point percentage and turnover rate.

Rob Pelinka has been in charge of the team. The team's first championship in five years came in his third year.

The squad that featured Green in the starting lineup was a deeper one with better shooting around James andDavis. Thanks to a great defense and excellent performances from the top two stars, they still weren't great, but they were good enough. They could rely on others in the rotation to help them out.

Green and others were involved in the shooting realm.

Three-point buckets have been hard to come by for this year's team, which is completely different from the title-winning squad. Only one of the eight players who have shot 10 or more threes this year is making more than 24.4% of their shots, and that's with only three of them shooting in the teens.

The Lakers have plenty of time to improve, but early returns are concerning and indicative of a bigger problem.
