A new actor is going to play Geralt of Rivia.
After Season 3 of The Witcher, Henry Cavill is leaving the show.
Fans of the series will be shocked by the departure of the best thing about the show.

The actor said he was excited about playing Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt and I am honoured that he is giving me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf's blades for the next chapter of his adventure. I have been a fan of yours for a long time and was inspired by what you brought to the character. I may have some big shoes to fill, but I am really excited to be in the world of The Witcher.
I had to check my calendar to make sure this wasn't a joke.

Recasting a character in four seasons is not a good idea. It's a catastrophe in the making when it's the very well-established lead character.
It is possible that Cavill doesn't want to go down with the ship and is getting out before things get worse. Maybe there are differences we don't know about. He might be too busy playing Superman in the newly-re- branded DC Universe.
It is the furthest thing from the exciting news that is being spun. Audiences will find it hard to accept him as Geralt even if he does well in the role. After the first season, everyone was onboard, even though it was going to be a challenge to move from video game Geralt to a live action actor.
He has been a champion of fidelity to the source material and has a deep passion for this project. I am worried that the show will fall apart without him in it.
The ending of the show should be either A) the end of the show or B) moving the story in a new direction with a new title role who isn't Geralt. Bring in the actor to play a different version of the character. This isn't Doctor Who You can't swap out Geralts every season.
This is a breaking news story and I am still analyzing it. This has crushed my hopes for the future of The Witcher on the streaming service. I don't think this show will go anywhere but down.
Beau De Mayo, a former producer on the show, claimed that the writers disliked the books and games.
Some of the writers on the show were not fond of the books and games. It's a recipe for trouble. All the long nights are worth it because of fandom. Before you can add to the work's legacy, you have to respect it.
These things might be connected. We won't know.
R.I.P. is releasing a movie called The Witcher. The last season of Geralt of Rivia will be aired in Summer of 2023. The Witcher: Blood Origin will be released on December 25th.
The show has been renewed for a second season.
