The show will not be returning until next year, but it has already been renewed for a fourth season. On Saturday, the streaming giant said that Liam Hemsworth, best known for his role in The Hunger Games, would replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Two actors posted about the casting change.

"My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my sword and medal," he wrote. The White Wolf will be taken up by the great Mr. Liam Hemsworth. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch to Liam to see his take on Geralt.

He didn't say why he left. The actor confirmed this week that he would continue to play Superman. The actor was cast as Geralt of Rivia by the streaming service. The actor brought a genuine love of the franchise with him that was apparent whenever he was interviewed about the role. He said that he felt a connection to Geralt and his nature from the books. It was something that I had a connection with because I had played the game many times.

The release date for the fourth season of The Witcher was not given by the streaming service. The third season began filming. The company said at the fan event that the show would come back in the summer of 2023. Fans will be able to watch the series on December 25th.
