Ja'Marr Chase won't be placed on injured reserve according to the coach.

Chase is expected to be out between four and six weeks with a hip injury.

The window for Chase to come back at the beginning of the timetable was left open by Taylor. The decision not to place Chase on injured reserve this week was made because of the timing, according to the coach.

Taylor said how it could play out was a factor.

During the week of practice, Chase was listed with a hip injury. Chase walked to the locker room at the end of the first half in the team's Week 7 victory against the Atlanta Falcons. After the game, Chase downplayed the problem.

Chase said he's good.

According to sources, Chase visited an orthopedist on Wednesday, an additional non-practice day for the team, so they could play on "Monday Night Football" instead of Sunday.

The wide receiver said he has been in contact with Chase.

Chase's injury is not as bad as it could be. There was a nagging injury. He's going to be back.

Chase was selected with the fifth overall pick by the Cincinnati Reds. He was named the Associated Press offensive rookies of the year after setting a franchise record for most receiving yards. Chase was sixth in the league in total receiving yards through the first seven weeks.

Through the first seven weeks of the season, the team's only group of three wide receivers have 400 or more receiving yards each.

The weekly process has been the same with Chase out and there isn't any added pressure to contribute in his absence.

"I'm pretty sure that we're going to keep that production going," he said. We get a job at the end of the day, no matter who's in or out. We have to prepare for a way to win our match up.

Defenses have shifted their coverage to stop Chase. Even though Chase is out, the looks will not change.

If they want to go man, we have a good match up. We're still expecting the same things even though they might go a little more double coverage.

Stanley Morgan will not play for the second game in a row due to a leg injury. Four healthy wide receiver are on the active roster. The practice squad player was mentioned by Taylor on Saturday as a possible call-up option.

Taylor said that players will have to step up if Chase is out. Taylor said that the familiarity with the scheme and the continuity with the receiving group should help the team as they look to snap a four-game losing streak.

The guys have a role to play.
