Enter your login information when you return to the MyTravel Gov website. You can type the time-sensitive code into the box on the next page. Select three security questions and give corresponding answers to complete the sign-in process.

You can apply for a consular report of birth abroad if you click on the Welcome to My Travel Gov section on the home page. The blue Renew Passport button should appear after your account is fully registered if you fill out this form.
Between account creation and registration completion, the website estimates a four hour delay. I had to wait about an hour and a half before the renewal option appeared. If you get an error message when you first click on the renewal button, try again in a few hours.
Click the button in the top right corner if you want to apply for a new passport. You can confirm your eligibility by looking through the pages. If you want to move on to the next step, you need a physical copy of your expired passport.
You can enter the information from your passport. If you have a passport card and passport booklet, you should fill out the information from both. The people who are eligible will be asked to provide more information on their travel plans, confirm their personal information, and take a selfies. It is possible that you will have to wait until the following month for more slots to open up.
Once you start, you can save the application for later, but you have to complete the entire submission in a month. Do you need more time? Start a new application
What amount does it cost?
The fees for online renewal are the same as at a physical location. A passport book and passport card cost more than $100. If you only have one form of passport, and you want the other, then you have to purchase both. If you want to receive a card for an expired book, you can't do it online. Either way, you can get the book or the other type.
What time will it take to arrive?
For the largest wait of them all. Our processing times are a range, according to the website.
It might take two weeks before the submission is active in the system. The passport could arrive within a few weeks. It is possible that you will be given the option to pay an extra $60 to get a quicker result.
It is not currently possible to see the status of mail applications online. Four email updates will be sent to your inbox when the application is received, approved, and shipped. Don't forget to double-check those folders.
The sooner you get your passport renewed the better.
