Smith-Njigba won't play against Penn State.

According to sources, the timetable for Smith-Njigba's return is not certain. Sources said that Smith-Njigba didn't travel with the team to State College.

Smith-Njigba has yet to play a complete game for the No. 2 Ohio State, as the frustration started when he injured his leg against Notre Dame. He wasn't able to finish either game.

Ohio State waited until after the bye week to have Smith-Njigba back for the Iowa game. Smith-Njigba left the field with a limp in the second quarter and never returned.

Smith-Njigba was seen as the best wide receiver in the country. He had the best season for a wide receiver in Big Ten history. He had a record 347 yards in the Rose Bowl, catching 15 passes.

Smith-Njigba has caught five passes in three games this year.
