In the Men's T20 World Cup in Australia, GlennPhillips smashed a superb 104 from 64 balls to lead New Zealand to a crushing 65-run victory.

The Black Caps were in trouble at 15-3 before the counter- attack byPhillips helped them post 167-7.

As a result of the sloppy performance in the field,Phillips was dropped on 12 and 45.

The win keeps New Zealand at the top of the group.

After winning the toss and batting, New Zealand were quickly in trouble as they lost both openers and their captain in the first four overs.

The fourth-century partnership of 84 betweenPhillips and Mitchell was the key to the recovery.

New Zealand scored 54 from the last four overs as New Zealand's man of the match wasPhillips who scored a half-century from 39 balls.

The second century of the World Cup was scored by Rilee Rossouw against Bangladesh.

New Zealand and England will play each other on Tuesday.

New Zealand will qualify for the semi-finals if they beat England, while Sri Lanka need to win both of their remaining games to have a chance.

Ruthless New Zealand punish sloppy Sri Lanka

It was a fantastic performance from the Black Caps, who are establishing themselves as potential favorites for the title after demolishing Australia in their first game.

Boult and Tim Southee were the stars of the show.

Phillips, an unconventional batter who scores all around the ground, was aggressive but smart, clearing the boundary with ease but also running well between the snares.

Sri Lanka fumbled the ball and gave away runs as well as the two missed chances ofPhillips.

The fact that Mitchell's 22 was the second-highest score was a sign of how dominantPhillips was.

When it comes to cricket, I try to entertain as much as possible. Today it was on the positive side. The feeling is completely different.

Boult and Southee unleashed a torrent of energy.

Southee removed Pathum Nissanka for a duck in the first over, after the opener dropped a simple chance to removePhillips on 12.

The contest was basically over when Boult took two in his first over.

The only resistance was scored by Bhanuka and Dasun.

Ish Sodhi, Mitchell Santner, and Lockie Ferguson all took two wickets for New Zealand.

"To see Glenn change the pressure and put it back on the opposition and get a hundred was remarkable - one of the best knocks I've seen for sure," said New Zealand's Kane Williamson.

We have a lot of cricket left so we have to focus on the next game. We have seen that anyone can beat anyone.

If New Zealand lose to England, a win over Ireland in their final game will be enough to see them through.

The advantage that England have over Ireland and Australia is that they will know what to do in the last game of the group if they win.
