Donald Trump lashed out at the judge handling the New York attorney general's fraud lawsuit against him and his company in a social media post, calling him "vicious, biased, and mean."

The former president, who has been on the losing side of Judge Arthur Engoron's rulings in the past, coupled Friday's criticism with complaints that he shouldn't be forced to deal with legal action until after the election.

The opening statements in the criminal tax fraud trial of the Trump Organization are scheduled for Monday.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump complained about having to deal with simultaneous court action on the eve of an election that could put Republicans back in control of one or both houses of congress.

A special grand jury in Georgia is investigating whether Trump or others tried to influence state election officials, as well as the House committee investigating the January insurrection.
