McCarthy: Bye week won't affect Zeke's status vs. Bears (0:30)

Mike McCarthy gave an update on the status of the injured player. It was 0: 30.

The Dallas Cowboys running back is questionable for the game against the Chicago Bears because of a knee injury.

After sitting out practice on Wednesday and Thursday, he didn't participate in Friday's workout.

Mike McCarthy said that the only chance he would have to play is if he keeps going the right way. He's doing a better job than we thought. He would have a chance to play if he practices tomorrow.

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones seemed to indicate that he wouldn't play but didn't completely rule him out ahead of the team's bye.

Had we not had the bye, I don't think we would have done it this way. This gives us too good of an opportunity if we don't use him. If we don't use him, this is too great of a time to get him in shape.

He didn't miss a game last year despite having a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. He missed one game in his career because of injury, but that was because of a helmet to the knee.

Tony Pollard would take over as the lead running back and the Cowboys would call up two players from the practice squad.

Jones said he was anxious to see what Pollard would do. Pollard is capable of running all day. I don't think he gets tired. He is able to carry that load.

The Linebacker is expected to play after being listed as questionable and a limited participant for a second day. Sam Williams was a limited participant in Friday's practice and is questionable.

Hooker and Brown might be longer shots to play because of their injuries.
