One of the songs in Bayonetta 3 might get you slapped with a copyright strike, as streamers might need to adjust some settings before they start playing the game.
There is always a pop-y version of a classic song that accompanies Bayonetta as she stomped demons, angels, and now, scientific horrors to death. The original Bayonetta had a theme called Fly Me to the Moon, while Bayonetta 2 had a different one. Content creators might get into a bit of trouble if Bayonetta 3 keeps up the tradition of changing golden oldies with the new game.
Nintendo said that any footage containing the song may be subject to copyright claims. The Verge asked if Bayonetta 3 had a streamer mode, but has yet to hear back. There was no option for a streamer mode in my copy of the game.
In the wake of risk-avoidant platforms taking down anything with a whiff of copyrighted music, streamer-friendly modes for games are slowly gaining prominence. When a streamer mode is used, it usually replaces the music with something license-free or straight silence.
Bayonetta's theme song plays for every battle, which might make a less-than ideal streaming experience if you're worried about a copyright strike. The song doesn't come up a lot in the game's last half because of Bayonetta 3's funky timey- wimey plot. If Bayonetta 3 is going to happen, streamers might want to turn down the music volume.
Bayonetta 3 is available on the Nintendo system.
