After 13 years of marriage, Tom Brady and Gisele Bndchen have finalized their divorce.

Brady and Bndchen said they had reached a decision. There was no divorce petition from either member of the couple that were entitled to file in any Florida county.

The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is difficult, I feel blessed for the time we had together.

Their priorities were with their children, and they asked for privacy.

Brady wrote that they decided to end their marriage after a lot of thought. It is painful and difficult for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world.

The divorce came in the midst of Brady's first three-game losing streak in 20 years, just months after he put an end to his short-lived retirement. After announcing his departure from the game in February, the quarterback changed his mind 40 days later.

You have to prove more. After Brady's last Super Bowl victory, Bndchen told him on the sideline.

Part of Brady's motivation to come back was what he has referred to as "unfinished business" with the Buccaneers, despite Brady initially saying his retirement was a chance to focus his time and energy on other things. In their attempt to repeat as champion, the team failed to make it to the Super Bowl.

Bndchen said that she was worried about her husband after he played through a concussion. There were no records of Brady's head injury when she made her comments, and Brady's team and agent didn't respond to her. Brady didn't want his medical history to be public.

Bndchen said during the interview that they don't discuss it. He does have head injuries. I don't think it's a good idea for anyone to go through that.

She said that the characterization of her as desperate for her husband to retire was sexist.

I have concerns of mine. This sport is very violent and I want him to be more present for my children. I've had those conversations with him many times. Everyone has to make a decision that works for everyone. He needs to follow his happiness as well.

Bndchen and Brady were introduced by a mutual friend and married a second time. Their first wedding took place in Santa Monica, California in early 2009, followed by a second wedding in Costa Rica two months later.

They had a son and a daughter that year. Brady has a 15-year-old son from a previous relationship.

Bndchen, who was discovered by a modeling scout at age 13 in Brazil, secured her place as one of the industry's highest-paid models by the 2000s and became a tabloid staple. She walked the runways of top designers and appeared in campaigns for high street and high fashion brands alike, as well as taking on small film roles.

In 2015, she gave up runway work and limited herself to a few advertising campaigns and magazine covers a year. She wore a gown and a huge smile as she crossed a runway at the Rio Olympics in 2016 while Daniel Jobim was performing.

Since paring back her modeling commitments, she has devoted herself to environmental activism and business ventures such as eco-friendly skin care and a lingerie line. She disclosed that she had contemplated suicide and criticized unrealistic beauty standards.

Bndchen said her priority was her family.

To be there for Tom is what I have done. She moved to Boston because she wanted to create a loving environment for her children to grow up in. It makes me happy to see my children succeed and be fulfilled in their careers, and to see him succeed as well. I think I have done a good job on that.

After years in Boston, where Brady played for the Pats, she said she had her own plans, and that she wanted to do a lot of things. I feel more connected to my purpose at 42 years old.

Brady left the Buccaneers for 11 days for personal reasons. The team agreed to take a break before the start of training camp.

Brady signed a 10-year contract worth $375 million to be the lead football analyst for Fox after he hangs up his cleats. Brady had expressed an interest in extending his playing career beyond his mid-40s if he remained healthy, but his ex- wife had a different idea.

She said that aggression can't be healthy for you. I want him to be healthy and do a lot of fun things when we reach 100.

That's right.
