Donald Trump, who was banned from the platform, applauded the new ownership by Musk.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social account, "I am very happy that Twitter is now in sane hands, and will no longer be run by Radical Left Lunatics."

There is a chance of a return to the platform. In the wake of the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, which resulted in the permanent suspension of Trump, Musk promised to lift it. Musk favors more short term measures.

Even if Musk reversed the ban, Trump wouldn't come back to the platform. He began his message Friday by saying that Truth Social had bigger numbers last week than all other platforms.

On Friday, Trump wrote that "Twitter must now work hard to rid itself of all of the bot and fake accounts that have hurt it so badly." It will be better.
