The Louisville women's basketball coach turned 51 on Thursday, but he still has a child in him. There is a slide from the second floor to the gym floor at the Planet Fitness Kueber Center.

As part of Louisville's media day coverage, Jody Demling of Cardinal Authority took a picture of the slide.

Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz has put in a slide from the coaches office to the practice gym. He says, "it's the fastest way from the second floor." pic.twitter.com/EUqA1Ja6bP

The players have enjoyed it. People are flying down the slide. There is padding at the bottom. You have something soft to land on if you don't practice sticking your dismount.

The concept for the slide took a long time to develop. He said the most important thing was to make sure it was in compliance with OSHA regulations.

There is a local man who does a lot of interesting designs. He said he could make it happen. He made a drawing for us.

A donor helped finance the construction. It has been the case that the players have visited the coaches more often because of it. In recruiting, it's cool to show off.

The slide does not interfere with practice activities according to the safety standards. It's there for the pleasure of all who like slides, which includes Walz and his two youngest daughters, who are 9 and 7 years old. When asked if his wife liked the slide, he laughed and said, "No, she said she is not doing that."

"slide" is the last word you would use to describe the program. The Louisville women's basketball team has four appearances in the women's Final Four under the leadership of head coach Jeff Walz, who is entering his 16th season. In March, he had his contract renewed.

The Louisville women's basketball team is ranked 7th in the preseason Associated Press poll and is expected to finish first in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team has been reloading with transfers and recruits thanks to the return of starting players.
