Tesla CEO Elon Musk looks up as he addresses guests at the Offshore Northern Seas 2022 (ONS) meeting in Stavanger, Norway on August 29, 2022Elon Musk fired key Twitter executives Thursday, one of his first moves as the official owner of the social media platform. According to reports from the New York Times, CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post and other outlets, Musk fired CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, general counsel Sean Edgett, and head of legal policy, trust and safety Vijaya Gadde.

Multiple sources say that the deal is done and that Musk was given the mandate to clean house. She was involved in the decision to ban former President Donald Trump from the platform. He has been in a fight with another person. The CEO took over for Jack Dorsey last year. It wasn't better in public. In the legal battle between the billionaire and the social network, the two exchanged text messages that showed a falling out.

It was rumored that Musk wanted to cut 75% of the staff, but he backpedaled and said he only wanted to cut four executives. Biz Stone was one of the co-founders of the micro-messaging service.

Since Agrawal took over, there has been a lot of shuffling of staff. He was the company's CTO before he became CEO. Within a few weeks, the Chief Design Officer of the company, Dantley Davis, and the Head of Engineering, Michael Montano, resigned. The chief information security officer, Rinki Sethi, and the head of security, Peiter Zatko, left the company. Keyvon Beykpour decided to leave the company after seven years after he was asked to step down. Bruce Falck left the company as well.

This is only the beginning of what is to come under Musk's control.
