Carroll: Grass for all NFL stadiums 'safest for the players' (0:33)

Pete said he would like to see a reexamination of the issue of natural grass in stadiums. There is a time and a place.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp didn't hesitate when asked if he preferred playing on a turf field or a grass field.

Kupp said it was not even close. There are some issues in the league right now. We should be playing outside. We should be outside. I'm not going to say anything else.

The question about playing on artificial turf was posed after Seattle's DK Metcalf and Los Angeles' J.C. Jackson were injured in the game.

There is an artificial turf field at Sofi Stadium. An artificial surface is used in 14 of the 30 stadiums of the National Football League.

He replied, "We should be on grass."

"We definitely need to look at this really seriously in the off-season again," said Pete Carroll.

It's been a topic before, according to Carroll. We have to do what's right and we have to do what's safe for the players. I'd hit the drum for that.

The National Football League Players Association president called for all teams to switch to natural grass in 2020 after San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan complained about the artificial surface at the stadium.
