The change will affect how videos appear on the platform. The company today announced a redesign that splits video content into three different tabs, one for traditional long-form content, another for shorts and a third for live videos.
The changes will make it easier for users to find the videos they want to watch. The company said it heard from viewers that they wanted to be able to navigate to the types of content they were most interested in when visiting a creator's channel page.
The removal of Shorts content and Live streams from the main Videos tab on the channel page could appeal to long-time users of the video-sharing site who have not appreciated the addition of short-form content into their feed.
For people who like to watch shorts, the redesign gives them a way to find more short-form videos. Users will be sent to the new Shorts tab when they watch shorts in the main app and then navigate to the creator. Users will not be immediately lost to the creator's long-form content, as before, as a result of this.
The initial feedback from users was positive, as they appreciated the fact that each type of content had its own category.

The redesign comes after another major update to the site this month, which included the introduction of the YouTube handles in theusername format. The usernames will allow creators to identify their channel and interact with their viewers on the platform.
All users will be able to use the new tabbed redesign in the weeks ahead.
