Red Bull will be punished for breaking the budget cap.

At the Mexican Grand Prix, the team will hold a news conference to discuss their penalty.

The team have come to an agreement with the governing body of the sport.

Max Verstappen said things are taken into the budget cap that are very unexpected but they have to deal with it.

Speculation within F1 suggests that the penalty could be a multi-million dollar fine and a reduction in allowed aerodynamic research and development

Red Bull was found to have committed a minor violation of the cap in the year that Max Verstappen won his first world title.

It's anything under 5% of the cap.

This is where a team has stayed within spending limits but has committed an administrative error, and there will be a penalty for it.

In a year in which his team may have benefited from over-spending in the development of their car, Verstappen was able to brush off any criticism.

He said from his side that he could. The critics probably won't be able to. It's a problem for them.

He said he was able to do the same after he won the championship after race director Michael Masi failed to apply the rules correctly.

He said people who criticized him and Red Bull were "sore anyway", so it doesn't matter what he says or does.

In a small group interview at the US Grand Prix, Hamilton was asked if he would be satisfied if the title was taken off Verstappen.

The seven-time champion said no. I have a feeling of what we did as a team and how we achieved, and I can keep that to myself.

I am proud of the way we did it.
