Spirit Airlines Reveals Impressive New Seats

New seats are bad news for customers. The new seats are lightweight and have little legroom, so airlines try to make them seem good for the environment.

I'm kind of impressed that Spirit Airlines is introducing new seats today.

It is important to remember that people choose to fly with the airline because of low fares rather than because of great service. There are some new seats that seem more comfortable than what the airline currently offers and that is to be applauded.

Details of Spirit Airlines’ new seats

The new seats have better padding and seat width. The new seats are manufactured by HAECO and include the Vector Light product for economy and the Vector Premium product for the big front seat.

The new interiors will be put on the aircraft in late January. 33 new A320 family aircraft are expected to be delivered over the course of the next three years.

The changes are intended to build on the refreshed cabin interiors that the airline already refreshed in 2019.

Spirit Airlines’ new economy seats

There are a few features in the new economy seats.

• The seats are half an inch wider, as the aisle and window seat will be 17.5″ wide, while the middle seat will be 18.5″ wide; this is being done by unlocking previously unused space with a design that fits closer to the wall of the aircraft, and it won’t impact the space in the aisle
• The seats have a curved seatback design, which unlocks additional space at knee level; Spirit claims that this additional space amounts to roughly two more inches of knee space compared to flatback seats on legacy airlines with the same pitch
• The seats have more cushioning and newly added headrests

Spirit Airlines’ new Big Front Seats

The new Big Front Seats are a great value in travel. You get the same service in the big front seats, but you get a more comfortable seat. The new Big Front Seats have a number of features.

• The seats have more cushioning
• The seats have an additional inch of pre-recline
• The seats have easier to reach tray tables
• The seats have wide seatbacks

Spirit Airlines’ new seats are lighter

There is a light element to this announcement. Despite having more features, the seats of the airline weigh less than the previous ones. Seat frame technology has advanced. It adds up when you consider the size of the network.

These seats look great, and Spirit Airlines is awesome

The airline isn't going to have a revolutionary inflight product because it is an ultra low cost carrier. I don't think anyone expected the $9Suite to be introduced. I think that this looks like a genuine improvement over the old product, and that it is driven by guest feedback.

There is an extra half inch of width in economy. If you look at the seat, you can see that it is more comfortable than the old product.

I have a strong preference forSpirit Airlines over Frontier Airlines. The Big Front Seat is an amazing deal and the airline has also rolled out high speed wi-fi throughout most of its fleet.

The airline has low fares and can be very pleasant. It will be sad if the takeover is approved.

The new seats appear to be a genuine improvement over the old ones. We will see the return of headrests and they will be wider. Well done to the airlines!
