The Cyberquad is being recalled due to the fact that it doesn't meet safety standards for youth ATVs. The vehicle was actually made by Radio Flyer and was sold on the online store. The company best known for its red wagons is handling the recall.
The Cyberquad can go up to 10 miles per hour. It doesn't have a "CPSC-approved ATV action plan" meant to dictate things like "rider training, dissemination of safety information, age recommendations, and other safety" Radio Flyer says that the main role in the product's design was consulting on its "overall appearance."
What should your children not be doing?
Radio Flyer says that anyone who owns one should remove the motor controller. You will get a full refunds if you return the controller. The process can be started on Radio Flyer's website.
The recall affects 5,000 units. There aren't any known instances of someone being seriously injured while using the Cyberquad for kids, though Radio Flyer received one report of it tipping over when an adult and child were riding it at the same time.
Radio Flyer has made a number of products that are related to electric vehicles. The Model S for kids is not intended for off-road use and has a max speed of 6 mph.
Around 24,000 Model 3s are being recalled because they may have improper seat belts.
