Russian President Vladimir Putin denied on Thursday that he intended to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, but said that the conflict there was part of a plan by the West to take over the world.
Putin said it's pointless for Russia to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
Putin said there wasn't need for that. There's no point in that.
Putin accused the U.S. and its allies of being involved in a domination game.
Western support for Ukraine has been cast as part of a broader effort by the US and its allies to enforce a rules-based world order. The world has reached a turning point when the West is no longer able to dictate its will to the humankind but still tries to do it, and the majority of nations no longer want to tolerate it, he said.
The leader of Russia said that the Western policies will cause more chaos.
Humans face a choice: accumulate a load of problems that will inevitably crush us all, or try to find solutions that may not be ideal but working, and make the world more stable and secure.
The Russian leader said that Russia is not the enemy of the West but that they are trying to subdue the country.
Putin said that they have failed to achieve their goal of turning Russia into an instrument for fulfilling their tasks.
Putin said that Russians and Ukrainians are part of a single people and that Ukraine was an "artificial state" which received historic Russian lands during the Soviet time.
The Russian leader repeated Moscow's false claims that Ukraine was planning to blow up a radioactive dirty bomb in order to blame Russia for a false flag attack.
Putin said that NATO's refusal to rule out prospective Ukraine's membership and Kyiv's refusal to adhere to a peace deal for its conflict in the country's east has left Moscow with no choice but to leave the alliance.
He insisted that his special military operation has proceeded as planned.
The challenges posed by Western sanctions were acknowledged by Putin, but he said that Russia has become more united.
