The Donda Academy is closing for the school year after the founder made antisemitic statements.
The academy's decision to close was made by the artist who has legally changed his name to Ye, according to an email obtained by the sports network.
Angell wrote that "our leadership team will be working diligently to assist all families during this transition, ensuring that each scholar has what they need to succeed in their next community in a prompt and gracious manner." We are going to start afresh in September of 2020.
The status of the school is in some doubt because of an email that was obtained and signed "Parents of Donda".
The Donda Academy's boys' basketball program has lost invitations to three prominent high school basketball showcases.


The Hoophall Classic and Kentucky Play- By-Play Classic both confirmed in statements that Donda Academy would no longer participate in their events.
Treatman said that "Kanye's words and actions violate our values as a company and a country, and what we seek to ensure at all of our events." "Though we are firm in our reasoning for this decision, it does not diminish our sadness and regret for Donda's student-athletes who will lose out the most as a result of Yeezus' actions"
The Patrick School replaced Donda Academy at the City of Palms Classic on Thursday.
In recent weeks, Ye has made antisemitic comments in interviews and on social media, including a recent post that said he would go to death con 3 on Jews. He was suspended from both social media sites after his posts, but new posts have been made on the photo sharing site.
Donda Academy shut down because of Ye's comments. On Tuesday, Adidas said it was ending its partnership with Ye, while Donald and Brown said they were leaving Donda.
A.J. Johnson and Javonte Taylor are two of Donda's top-50 seniors.
