The company is now inviting U.S-based health creators to apply for the program, since the features were only available to select institutions.

Guidelines set by the Council of Medical Specialty Societies, the National Academy of Medicine and the World Health Organization were used to create a framework for credible sources for health-related content on the platform. The creators of health related videos need to follow these rules.
To apply for this certification, creators need to have health content on their channel, have at least 2,000 watch hours of public videos in the last year, and be a licensed doctor, nurse or mental health professional.
In order to verify that applicants have a valid medical license, the channel will be reviewed against its guidelines. Once the channels are approved, they will get a special label stating they are a licensed healthcare professional, and their videos will show up on health content shelves. It doesn't specify which rare diseases are covered by this, but it does cover search results in most conditions.
If a creator makes a video that isn't related to healthcare, the channel still retains the label and the video might also show up on the health content shelf.
The onus of making health-related videos lies with the creator, according to Dr. Graham. If they want to mark an unrelated video, the company doesn't have a way to do that.
A program that surfaces personal stories from patients or their relatives in a separate panel when users search for ailments cancer and mental health conditions was launched last month. The personal stories panel has a chance of showing up in the health resources panel.

If a channel gets a Community Guidelines strike or has content removed for violating our policies, they will lose their eligibility. If the Community Guidelines issues have been solved, channels can reapply. Many creators are familiar with how our partner program works.
If necessary, the company reviews these channels annually to make sure they follow the rules for health-related content on the site.
