The men's T20 World Cup match between Australia and England is the day before Matthew Wade tested positive for Covid-19.

With Wade, the only keeper in the Australia squad, it raises the possibility of either Glenn or David taking the gloves.

Wade is hoping that the rules allow those who test positive to play.

The Australia camp has had two cases this week.

After returning a positive test on Tuesday, spinner Adam Zampa was left out of the XI for Australia's win over SriLankan.

Wade's symptoms are not life threatening. He will be assessed by medical staff on Friday if his condition gets worse.

George Dockrell tested positive for Covid-19 while he was playing for Ireland.

The Biosafety Advisory Group will be the final arbiter as to the Covid status of any player and his availability to participate in a match, according to the International Cricket Council.

Most of the time the player would be allowed to play.

Since Josh Inglis was ruled out with a freak hand injury, Wade has been the only keeper in the squad.

When the captain was asked who would be the keeper if Wade was injured, he said that Warner was the most likely.

Warner has never started an international as the designated gloveman despite filling in as keeper for Brad Haddin when he was injured.

Mitchell Starc, who would have to take the gloves around bowling his overs, was one of the possible options.

Both England and Australia have lost one of their two games so far, so Friday's match is important.

They were all but eliminated if they lost another game.
