The company that runs the Miss Universe beauty contests has been bought by a trans woman.

The boss of the group is Anne Jakapong Jakarajutatip.

She starred in the Thai version of Project Runway.

The company she purchased was once co-owned by Donald Trump.

Ms Jakrajutatip has spoken out about her experience as a trans woman.

The Miss Universe Organization was an addition to her company's portfolio.

"We want to continue its legacy of providing a platform to passionate individuals from diverse background, cultures, and traditions, but also to evolve the brand for the next generation," she said.

Miss Universe Organization chief executive Amy Emmerich and president Paula Shugart said that their relationships with global partners and brands have never been stronger.

The Miss Universe Organization was co-owned by Donald Trump.

The company was sold by the former US president after two television partners said they wouldn't show the Miss Universe contest because of comments made by Donald Trump.

The former Miss Universe was accused of being a liar by Mr. Trump.

She said the comments were made when she put on weight.

Mr Trump said in a statement that the company was in serious trouble when he bought it.

It has been a pleasure to make them so successful. The pageants are now in the hands of a company that will make them even more successful.

The Miss Universe is moving towards being more inclusive.

Married women and mothers will be allowed to compete for the title in the future.

Women who had never been married and had no children were only allowed to enter the competition.

The 71-year-old beauty contest is broadcasted in more than 160 countries.
