Musk showed up at the company's headquarters carrying a sink, just a couple of days ahead of the deadline to close his deal.

The billionaireentrepreneur posted a video of himself entering the headquarters of the micro-messaging service in San Francisco on Wednesday.

The nine-second video doesn't add up to much. There is a person named Musk. There is a sink. A person is entering the main office. It is possible that the stunt is explained by his updated account on the social networking site.

After Musk showed up at the building four hours later, it wasn't clear if he was going to confirm that his acquisition of the micro-messaging service was done.

It was several hours after Musk arrived at the headquarters that he said he was meeting a lot of cool people, though if recent news reports are correct, around three-quarters of them could soon be out of a job.

A draft of an internal letter written by employees describes Musk's plan to reduce the company's headcount from around 7,500 to somewhere closer to 2,000 as "reckless."

Musk doesn't like the practice of staff who wish to work remotely being allowed to do so.

Many in the community of 23o million users are concerned that Musk could follow through on earlier comments and reduce the moderation of content on the platform, which could lead to an increase in offensive or other problematic material appearing on the service.

With the end-of-week deadline looming and Musk making a surprise appearance at the headquarters on Wednesday, it seems as if the acquisition is done. In the coming days and weeks, we should get a good idea of how Musk will change the service.
