The companies make news after the bell.

The parent company of Facebook missed earnings estimates. Meta posted a better-than- expected decline but shared disappointing guidance for the fourth quarter.

Despite exceeding estimates on the top and bottom lines, Ford Motor shares dipped in post market trading. The company took a $2.7 billion noncash writedown on its project.

After the market closed, ServiceNow's earnings per share came in at 12 cents, beating expectations. The stock of Arista Networks added more than 7% in extended trading.

KLA added more than 1% in after hours trading. KLA raised its guidance. Advanced Micro Devices and Applied Materials were two of the chip stocks to gain after hours.

Align Technology fell after missing earnings estimates. Analysts expected adjusted earnings per share to be $2.18 a share.

After issuing weak guidance, the retail stock cratered more than 20% in extended trading. Sleep Number beat Wall Street's expectations on both the top and bottom lines.

Teladoc Health's stock jumped more than 8% in extended trading on strong quarterly results and an upbeat outlook.

Revenue and earnings for the third quarter were better than expected. O'Reilly automotive lifted its guidance.

Revenue in the recent quarter fell short of analysts' expectations. The board of United Rentals approved a program to buy back shares.
