Sarah was told by a medium to move out west and create a home for herself and the souls of those killed by rifles, or they would haunt her forever, according to accounts.

Over the course of 38 years, the mansion in San Jose went from being built in 1884 to being a 24,000-sq-ft Queen Anne-style house. There are 160 rooms, 47 stairways and fireplaces, six kitchens and 13 bathrooms in the house.

The house was not included in her will and was sold for $13,000. You can join the Walk with Spirits around the estate to learn more about the supernatural connections of the property.
