The Philadelphia Eagles acquired defensive pass-rusher RobertQuinn from the Bears.
According to a source, the Bears traded veteran pass-rusher RobertQuinn to the Eagles for a fourth-round draft pick.
When he signed a five-year, $70 million contract with the Bears in April 2020, he became the highest paid player in Bears history. He has been traded three times in his 12-year career to different teams in the same division. He was traded from the Rams to the Dolphins and then to the Cowboys.
The new front office and coaching staff of the Bears parted ways with more than 20 players from the previous regime, and that led to rumors of a trade forQuinn. In March, Mack was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for a second- and sixth-round pick.
The Bears had a single-season sack record of 18 in 2011. His statistics have leveled off this season, but he is considered to be one of the top pass-rushers in the league. He has one sack, three quarterback hits, two tackles for loss and eight total tackles this season.
When he was asked about the trade, Smith became emotional.

After skipping out on the Bears' entire summer program, he reported to camp on time. He noted the uncertainty of a decision that is not up to him, while also saying that he never expected to go anywhere.

All of Chicago's defensive linemen have played 67.86 percent of their defensive snaps. The Bears used a fifth-round pick on Dominique Robinson, who is expected to take a bigger role behind Al-Quadin Muhammad and Trevis Gipson.
The oldest defensive player on Chicago's roster was not expected to be a part of the long-term plan. He has a base salary of $12.8 million and has about $7.9 million left of it.
