Aaron Rodgers during his spot on The Pat McAfee Show

The loss to the Commanders was not the fault of Rodgers.

Green Bay fumbled a punt in the first quarter, allowing Washington to score three points. Only a pick-six by Packers LB De'Vondre Campbell gave his team a 14-3 lead.

There were dropped passes, poorly timed penalties, and injuries, and the game turned into anything that can go wrong can go wrong for the Packers. The Pack lost 23-21 to Washington in week seven.

Rodgers was unhappy with the way that game played out, as his team fell to 3-4. Mentioning that his teammates are making more mistakes than usual is not a typical quarterback practice. That is not how a QB1 usually approaches their weekly appearances on a program.

Tom Brady did a show on WEEI when he was with the New England Pats, but that show is different. It is high energy and engaging. The former football player does not host a hard-hitting interview podcast, but rather a place where players can feel comfortable giving honest responses knowing that he won't follow up as much as a traditional journalist. He doesn't feel like he's being forced by a local sports-talk host People like to listen to Rodgers talk about his old friends A.J. Hawk and Pat McAfee.

Rodgers said on Tuesday that players who make too many mistakes should be removed from the field. The truth wouldn't be hard to handle. Rodgers let it be known that no one should blame him when he was asked how he evaluated the tape after the loss to Washington and how he felt about his own performance.

Rodgers said that his highest graded game was this one. People may be surprised but we probably didn't execute. There was a lot of droppings. We are behind the sticks because of a few missed throws. There are too many penalties. It was way too much drops. We were behind the sticks the whole time.

I don't mind if he points out that they need to play better if he doesn't call them out by name. Rodgers doesn't need to say "everything starts with me" every week. I have to improve. The best player is not the main issue.

To point out that your quarterback coach gave you the highest grade on the game came off as arrogant. Rodgers isn't the main reason for Green Bay's losing ways. He is living off of screens. Rodgers is known for buying time and launching the ball like a T-shirt cannon. Some people think that he is the greatest quarterback of all time. Even if he is not making the same mistakes as his younger teammates, there are few big plays from a 38 year old quarterback. They would be better if he played better.

The way that he elevated himself above the team will not change the perception that he's arrogant. It is one thing to wash your hands of a problem and say you are kicking ass and everyone else needs to get it together.
