Detroit Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp admits she's frustrated with the team's poor start to the season, but she still believes that coach Dan Campbell and general manager BradHolmes are the right people to lead the rebuild.

Ford Hamp was asked if their jobs could be in jeopardy if the season ended in a tie.

Ford Hamp believes in the leadership.

Ford Hamp became the principal owner of the Lions in 2020 after her mother, Martha Ford, stepped down.

The Lions have lost four in a row and were defeated at Dallas on Sunday.

She thinks they are making progress despite being 4-18-1 through the second season of leadership.

Ford Hamp said that the team is only a third of the way through the season. "We've got 11 more games to go, so I don't want to ruin it, push the panic button and give up the ship because I think we've got the right people in place to pull this off." If I didn't think it was true, I wouldn't say that.

"No one hates losing more than I do, more than my family does, but we have to sort of gut through it," said Ford Hamp.

The last time the Lions won a playoff game was in 1992 and they have been without a win since. Since the beginning of the year, they haven't won more than six games.

Everyone is angry. Ford Hamp believes in what we've got and what we're going to be. It doesn't take a lot of time.

Campbell said he held a conversation with Ford Hamp where they went through a deep dive of the roster to understand the direction of the team. Campbell is an ex-Lions player who experienced the 0-16 season in 2008 and is trying to change the "Same Old Lions" narrative.

Campbell said that he told her everything he saw and things that needed to be improved. Everything. I felt like we needed to be better at what we do. I told her where we were going and then I told her where I was going.

The five turnovers in the second half of Detroit's loss to Dallas have been costly. Ford Hamp acknowledged the young players on the roster. She said that she is patient with the current leadership.

Ford Hamp said that he has confidence in the process that they went through when hiring Brad and Dan. I can't comment on other teams' rosters or what they had in the first place because it was thorough. I have no idea where we're going or what we have.
